Learning To Be A Better Leader

By: QuiAri Founder & CEO, Bob Reina

They go by many names – Managers, CEOs, Executive Directors, Department Heads – but we all know them as Leaders. These are the people who call the shots, have all of the answers, the motivators, the strategizers, the decision-makers, and risk-takers. People who have left their 9-to-5 jobs for Network Marketing are used to following leaders, building their success from being in the shadow of a Leader.  However, as a Promoter (especially a QuiAri Promoter), you instantly become the Leader and are in charge of managing and motivating your Team. That can be pretty intimidating!

Here are the reasons why you shouldn’t sweat it:

Leadership Is LEARNED

The truth is – great leaders usually have great mentors. They learned by imitating the actions of their mentors and learning from experience. QuiAri Promoters have many mentors to choose from. We have a literal army of successful leaders, all excited to teach you how to lead. Why would they want to help you? Because QuiAri is structured so that your success helps contribute to the success of the Leaders above you. It is in their best interest to help you succeed. Also, every QuiAri Promoter has access to the Purple Diamond Guide, which is a step-by-step guide to teach you how to reach the top rank of Crown Purple Diamond. It’s available free in your Portal and teaches you and your Team about the power of duplication. Lastly, you can join us for our weekly Live Events  – every Thursday at 10 AM EST, QuiAriHQ.com. Having the mindset of a leader is half the battle to having a successful business. Our Live Event features mindset training, important global news, and updates, as well as inspiring testimonials from Promoters and Customers. Also, staying informed can help you become a better leader.

Your ACTIONS Matter: Set A Good Example

Are you sleeping in late, not returning phone calls or answering emails right away, not actively passing out samples, and not participating in 3-way Opportunity calls? Your Team is observing your actions (or inactions) and taking mental notes. Remember, it’s not just what you say to your Team, but how you do it that determines your Team’s progress. If you’re neglecting your business, it’s more than likely they are too.

Want your team to be positive, collaborative, and committed to the cause? Set the example by demonstrating:

● A strong work ethic

● Honesty

● A good attitude

● Punctuality

● Patience and attentiveness

● Effective problem-solving

● Helpfulness

● Consistent commitment

● Professionalism

● Posture, confidence, and positive representation of your brand

Set Clear Expectations From Your Team

You are the HEAD of your Team. That makes the Team your BODY. If the head isn’t telling the body to move, then it remains still. Effective leaders are good at making sure everyone on your Team is on the same page and headed in the right direction. Good communication is essential for you and your Team to make big moves. Start by creating a healthy dialogue so that people aren’t afraid to ask questions if they are confused or don’t have all the information they need.

Create a chat group or host a morning video conference with your Team. It can be daily or weekly, depending on your Team’s performance. Then get everyone on the same page by sharing these questions and providing the answers.

● What are we trying to accomplish today?

● What is the result we want to achieve?

● How do we plan to achieve that goal?

● What is their role or responsibility for the day?

● What are the steps for completion?

Each person on your Team will have different tasks to accomplish, so be sure to LISTEN to their needs and help them accomplish their task (which helps accomplish the bigger picture goal). For example, Promoter #1 had a big day yesterday and helped 30 people join as Promoters, their priority for today is to help those new Promoters reach out to their contacts so they can become Active and Qualified, and make sure they are available for 3-way calls. Promoter #2 is hosting a Tasting Party and Opportunity Presentation. They should be creating a checklist of everything they need to make it a success. help them create a checklist of everything they need.

Evaluate Yourself As A Leader & Seek To Improve

No one is going to force you to be a better Leader. That is your responsibility to learn and grow on your own. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

 Evaluate your current strategy:

● Are you holding meetings regularly to cite the targets ahead?

● Do you clearly articulate important insights, tools, procedures, and

deadlines?

● Do you encourage collaboration and questions to sharpen everyone’s vision of the tasks ahead?

If you’re not doing ALL of these things, make a change to your strategy and you’ll start to see results.

Give Credit & Recognize Your Team’s Wins

Fuel your Team’s progress by being a good coach. Politely point out areas where they have room for improvement, but also give them praise for accomplishments. Call them out in your Team meetings and celebrate their success. You’ll not only make their day, but also provide a teachable moment for your Team. Someone else may be inspired to do more so that they can be celebrated next.

Be A Leader That Makes Leaders

Eventually, your Team will grow so large that you can’t possibly lead everyone successfully. As much as you want to be an MLM Superman / Superwoman, you can’t be everywhere at once. Spreading yourself too thin will only discourage your Team. They will feel like you are neglecting their needs when in reality, you’re just too busy to help everyone!  The solution is to build new Leaders within your Team. It will help split up the tasks and decision-making and ensure a brighter future for everyone. Be approachable…people who want to lead will typically not be shy. However, just because they want to be Leaders doesn’t mean they should be Leaders. You’ll need to judge whether they are coachable and are willing to eliminate the word “I” from their vocabulary and replace it with the word “We.” The best Leaders love helping others succeed and are comfortable sharing the spotlight, not stealing it. It’s important to remember that we all are working towards the same goal, and we simply cannot leave any Team member behind. Your Team is only as strong as its weakest Promoter.

DO NOT GIVE UP!

You will face challenges along the way. People are not perfect. Mistakes will be made by you or your Team. We all have good days and bad days. The easiest thing in the world to do is quit, but great Leaders don’t. They learn and grow from mistakes and use their experience to become better Leaders. Don’t quit, don’t give up, and if you have a problem, don’t wait until it’s too late to ask for help. Humble Leaders make the best Leaders!
