Your friends and family already know and trust you, so that’s an easy win, but Prospects who fall outside of your inner-circle can be more of a challenge. They know you’re a friend of a friend, and will likely be willing to listen to what you have to say…but do they TRUST you? Nope…you’re going to have to earn it!

Building trust and credibility with strangers isn’t easy, but it is possible. Follow these tips to make your first impression your BEST impression:

Don’t Act. Just Be Authentic

The real you is the best you! We’ve all encountered (and dislike!) fake people – these are people who want something from you and are willing to say and do anything to get it. Your best strategy is to try to make a genuine connection with your Prospect. Tell your story, share your dreams, and talk about how Network Marketing has helped you get closer to them. Remember what it felt like when you joined your first MLM company? You were probably nervous, scared, but also excited and optimistic about the future. Your Prospect is feeling all of these emotions within seconds after shaking your hand. Be sympathetic, listen carefully to their problems and offer real solutions. It may sound almost too simple, but just following through on your promises means a lot. If you tell your Prospect you’ll follow up in a day or two – do it.
