Trail Mix

Buy in bulk or make your own! Trail mix is healthy, delicious, and an exciting option. Nuts by themselves can be boring, but if you add in some dried fruit, dark chocolate, and seeds, you can create a delicious mix that you'll actually look forward to eating. Pre-made bags can be expensive, so a cheaper alternative is buying the ingredients in bulk and mixing them yourself. Almonds, peanuts, pistachios, and walnuts are all good choices! Pair with dried peaches, craisins, bananas chips, or raisins to sweeten up your tasty treat. 

Apples and Peanut Butter

Ever heard the saying “an apple a day keeps the doctor away?” While that might not be guaranteed, apples are definitely a healthy, filling snack! Pair with peanut butter, to sneak in some protein. Some people don't particularly like to pack apples as a snack because once cut, they tend to turn brown rather quickly. To avoid this, after slicing, spray lightly with some lemon juice and place in your Ziplock bag/to-go container, etc. Pack the peanut butter (creamy or crunchy) in a small travel dish with a lid, and you’ll have the perfect afternoon snack!

Cucumber & Carrots

Get your daily dose of veggies! Vegetables nourish your body with essential vitamins, nutrients, and minerals! Try sliced cucumbers and carrots with some dip to enhance the flavor! For lower calories, try hummus and tzatziki sauce. For those who feel like splurging, go for the ranch or blue cheese! All can be stored in a small Tupperware container in a fridge, lunch box, or small cooler.

Hard-Boiled Eggs

Easy, delicious, and filling – hard-boiled eggs can be cooked in under ten minutes and stay good for about a week! Containing protein and healthy fats, you can’t go wrong with eggs as a snack or side-dish. Add some salt and pepper, if you choose, and you're good to go! 

Avocado 

Avocados are a very popular superfruit! They contain lots of fiber and protein, which is also effective in suppressing your urge to snack throughout the day. Eat them plain, or you can mash with salt and pepper, and lemon juice for fresh guacamole. If you’re feeling adventurous, make avocado toast!
